After many years working in professional and financial services, it was clear to us that field staff were undertaking far too much admin, slowing down their ability to do their jobs and, more worryingly, keeping customer visits and response times low.
New mobile technologies looked like they could provide the answer, so we gave it a try.
In 2004, while working at GAB Robins the global claims management organisation, we provided customer-facing staff with digital pen and paper to collect data from the field.
It was a huge success, results were dramatic. Along with being able to process information the same day, even correct errors in real-time, and claims teams having time to visit more customers, we saw new claims settled in under 10 days treble. It surprised even us.
So in 2005 we set up Digital Field Solutions to develop the digital pen more widely.
Since then, we have delivered and supported mobile data capture solutions to many large and small businesses in financial services, healthcare, property, utilities, training, maintenance and manufacturing.
