What you need to send, written or sketched, can be as straightforward or advanced as your business demands.

You could begin with something simple to get you up and running quickly and then add levels of functionality as your experience grows – Level 1 allows you to send an image of a handwritten form by email to single or multiple destinations.

More complex options, Levels 2 and 3, give you the ability to convert handwriting into text, validate data or even apply rules to ensure users complete forms correctly giving you greater control over data quality and enabling you to streamline back office processing.

Costs

The cost of using digital pens depends on:

  • the number field staff (and therefore digital pens);
  • the number of electronic data capture forms you want to create;
  • form complexity you require (level, 1, 2 or 3);
  • and whether the form is simply sent by email or integrated into your office system

We process your pen data data on our secure servers so there is no need for you to set up or manage expensive server infrastructure. (N.B. Digital pen and form processing applications can be installed within your IT environment if you require. Please contact us to discuss.)

In our experience, implementation costs are significantly less than alternatives such as laptops, tablets or PDA’s, with payback returns typically less than six months. The costs you save from increased efficiencies only you can assess, but our customers have reaped significant benefits in terms of increased response times or a greater number of sales or visits as a direct result of decreased admin tasks.
