Cookies

Our website uses two types of cookies. A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we put on your computer if you agree. These cookies allow us to distinguish you from other users of the website which helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and also allows us to improve our site.

The cookies we use are ‘analytical’ cookies. They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the site when they’re using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example by making sure users are finding what they need easily. Read more about the individual cookies we use and how to recognise them;

Session cookie
A session cookie only lasts for the duration of users using the website. A web browser normally deletes session cookies when it quits. A session cookie is created when no directive is provided when the cookie is created.

Persistent cookie
A persistent cookie will outlast user sessions. If a persistent cookie has its Max-Age set to 1 year, then, within the year, the initial value set in that cookie would be sent back to the server every time the user visited the server. This could be used to record a vital piece of information such as how the user initially came to this website. For this reason persistent cookies are also called tracking cookies.

What are these cookies called, and what do they do?

Google Analytics cookies

_utma, _utmz, _utmb, _utmc

Google Analytics session cookies lets us analyse how visitors use our site. We use this information to improve our website and provide the best experience to visitors.

You Tube

VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, PREF

These persistent cookie have a duration of 7 months, and seems to determine which version of the You Tube homepage you get if you visit it. YouTube uses cookies to help maintain the integrity of video statistics, prevent fraud and to improve their site experience. If you view a video, YouTube may set cookies on your computer once you click on the video player.

Where possible, we embed videos using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. In privacy-enhanced mode, YouTube will not set a cookie when you visit a page with an embedded video unless you click onto the video, nor will it store personally-identifiable cookie information for playbacks of embedded videos using the privacy-enhanced mode. Please visit YouTube’s page on embedding videos for more information.

Website cookie acceptance

This cookie is used to record if a user has accepted the use of cookies on this website and last 365 days.
Opting out/removing cookies

To opt out of Google Analytics cookies, please visit Google’s website.

You can also control what cookies you accept through your internet browser. For details on how to do this, please visit aboutcookies.org. Please note that by deleting our cookies or disabling future cookies you may not be able to access certain areas or features of our website.

We may update this policy from time to time. Please check this page regularly for notification of any significant changes in the way we treat your personal information.
